Dunbarton Corporation
Installed and configured Gentran 400, built Gentran Applications for POs and Acknowledgements, Ship Notices, Invoices, Credit/Debit Adjustments, Remittance Advice and Text Messages. Wrote AS/400 CL programs to Receive, Process and Send. Wrote RPG report programs to list data received and sent, and provide additional audits. Created change/re-run process. Monitored EDI activities and reported.
Bigelow Tea
Wrote project-step plans to develop systems interfacing with BPCS. Created and changed EDI partner data, maps and applications in Gentran. Communicated with trading partners to resolve EDI transmission errors and issues. Wrote and changed RPG, CL and Query programs using standard AS/400 utilities. Provided management reports.
Danaher Motion
With general supervision, communicated with external trading partners to assure the correct sending and receiving of EDI transmissions. Using Sterling Commerce’ Gentran, set up and changed trading partners, make and change applications, make and change transaction maps, test and place into production. Use AS/400 utilities and languages. Prepared systems to send and receive data from SAP IDocs. Completed certification process from GXS VAN for large vendor. Furnished management reports as requested, other on-call duties.
Sterling Commerce
As Service Partner Consultant, install and configure the Gentran EDI software, work with customer to determine data elements and values, perform element gap analysis, set up trading partner relationships, set up VANS, map transaction sets and coordinate tests, and monitor message file to assure quality results. Other EDI Coordinator functions as requested. Write and change RPG and CL programs as needed. Assure Customer Sign-off.
Walls Industries
Converted from Unix platform to AS/400. Performed analysis to assure S/21 and PkMS systems are providing needed data. Wrote RPG programs to perform file updates and extractions as required. Using GENTRAN, update partner data, applications, and maps per trading partner specifications. Performed on-call duties as requested by the programming manager.
Cott Beverages
Worked with team on a conversion project from CIMPRO to BPCS. Performed technical analysis, provided project leadership and documented results of research and interviews. Wrote computer program Functional Specifications documents to be approved by management and used by technical staff to develop EDI data systems. Platforms were AS/400 and Unix servers, and Sterling Commerce translation software.
Playtex Corporation
Performed duties to cause electronic commerce to occur between client company and internal and external customers. Interviewed with company department representatives to decide business documents to trade. Contacted external customers and vendors to coordinate document trading. After GAP analysis, did field mapping and all trading partner set-ups using Gentran. Assured complete testing and coordinated production activities.
Briggs Industries
Used the AS/400 and RPG/400. Changed the BPCS ERP as requested. Analyzed department vendor relations and negotiated new contracts as appropriate. Interviewed and hired two new employees and one new AS/400 contractor. Participated in the contract negotiations of a T-1 frame relay system connecting all eight regional offices.
Cutler-Hammer
Performed AS/400 system administration duties and provided user support for MAPICS. Monitored and changed job schedule and system configuration as needed. Wrote and changed RPG programs and queries as requested by user departments. Provided product information to corporate users and data center while transferring manufacturing activities to another plant. Installed a new AS/400 with MAPICS as a backup machine and placed in Windows/NT network.
HTE
Used the AS/400 and RPG/400. Met with users to determine IS processes to meet departmental transaction objectives. Wrote Functional Specifications for use by programmers and analyst to construct systems to meet those objectives. Prepared time line of events to assure project fulfillment of plan. Assured test plans and results were met. Used AS/SET development tool for new programs. Procured user sign-off to signal completion.
ContiCotton
Using the AS/400 and RPG/400, participated in business re-engineering project to reduce non-value-added movement and increase worker productivity.
Vulcraft Steel
Installed new AS/400 and programmed in RPG III. Helped configure as PC network. Analyzed business needs, then changed an existing system to better align the software with their processes. A notable accomplishment was to automatically cause a steel cutting factory’s production to fill customer orders.
Avex Electronics
Wrote and changed in RPG III on the AS/400, the DATA3 manufacturing software per user requests. Major projects included a Sales/Forecast system and a JIT Stock-out Pick List encoded for bar-scan reading.
CLEO Corporation
Wrote and changed the RPG III MAC/PAC software per user requests. Designed and wrote an interface system to gather data for input into the Premenos EDI mapper. Processes included inventory, warehousing and shipping on an AS/400.

Ekco/Glaco, Ltd. 1994 - 1996 MIS Manager
Developed RPG III, CL and Query programs to user specifications utilizing the AS/400 and MAPICS. Prepared and administered department budget. Was responsible for a Novell LAN system. Developed LAN-based program to provide sales quotes to field sales personnel.
International Paper 1989 - 1994 Senior Programmer/Analyst
Designed and wrote RPG II, RPG III and COBOL programs. Changed BPCS manufacturing software per user requirements. A major project was the implementation of EDI using Gentran/MVS. Was on a pilot EDI team to map transactions and place into production. Platforms were the ES9000 and the AS/400.
Teledyne W-F Industries 1984 - 1989 Programmer/Analyst
Installed S/36 and was involved with the selection of the MAPICS manufacturing software. After MAPICS was installed, IBM used our shop as a model! When W-F merged with Continental Motors, installed and implemented the BPCS manufacturing system. Selected, hired and supervised two programmers.
Comdata Network 1982 – 1984 Programmer
Co-developed COBOL system to process cash advances in ATMs and check printing in truck stops and casinos for this funds transfer company on an IBM 4300.
Commerce Union Bank 1975 - 1982 Programmer
Was responsible for all commercial loan processing. Major accomplishments included the timely design and programming of a system to automatically adjust interest rates. Used COBOL on an IBM 390.
